The Chromebook is becoming more and more popular as a choice for a laptop or notebook for many people. They are lightweight and so easy to use. They are built to boot up really fast and run on the Chrome OS which is a slightly different style of operating system. If those annoying updates that other computers make you suffer through have got on your last nerve, a Chromebook can rectify that. They update automatically behind the scenes without troubling you with all of it. There are several companies who build the Chromebook with a variety of pricing. Samsung produces several versions. Two other companies who manufacture this little laptop are Acer and HP Pavilion.
The Samsung Chromebook (Wi-Fi, 11.6-Inch) is currently the number 1 best seller in the Laptop section at Amazon which give you some idea of how popular they have become. They offer several free apps to use and many more that can be downloaded for free or purchased for a nominal price. People love the cloud feature, too.
But that is not the real reason that I am writing this today. I would like to give you some ideas on gifts that you can purchase to use with the Google Chromebook. It might be that the person you want to give the gift to already has one or you know that they are getting one for Christmas and you want to add to their productivity and enjoyment of the device. So, let’s look at some options to give as a gift.
Chromebook Bag Ideas
Are you searching for a cool Chromebook messenger bag to carry not only your device but some other needed items, too? There are some great options available to you. The most important feature to look at is the brand of Chromebook that you have as to the dimensions of the screen display. Not all Chromebooks are the same size so you will need to make sure that yours will fit in the messenger back that you choose.
One of the reasons we love to have a laptop of any make is that we can take it with us when we travel, go to work or school. Having a bag to carry it in is a must. So, a bag would be a great gift idea. A Duzign Rover Messenger Bag would be nice for both men or women to carry their laptop in. It also has a place for a 10 inch tablet for them, too. There are two front pockets to carry other necessities in that they might want easy access to. Inside pockets can carry accessories, smartphone and cords. The shoulder strap is adjustable to make carrying comfortable. It is made from synthetic leather for durability. The top flap snaps shut to keep everything more secure.
A Perfect Bag To Take When Traveling
I really like this bag for people who travel often. The padded compartment will hold your Samsung Series 5 Chromebook plus there is an extra section for a 10 inch tablet. On an extended trip, you would find that having the Chromebook will be handy when you are in the hotel room and want to access the internet to do some computing. While out sightseeing or perhaps while riding public transit the tablet comes in handy to take photos, check emails or read a book. This bag allows for both.
Hard shell Chromebook bag
Talk about protection! The outer shell is hard to help against extra outside abuse and the inside has a padded section for your computer gadgets. All kinds of places to store the accessories and tools that you will need for the day. Accepts a Samsung Chromebook that is in the 11.6 inch size.
Remember…when taking your Chromebook with you that you will need to make sure documents are available off-line, or you have internet access where you’re going, in order to be able to edit them.
Looks like leather
This bag is so perfect to use for everyday use and also for when you are going on a trip. There are two pockets for you to use. One is large enough to carry your Chromebook while the other will hold a 10 inch tablet. Plus there are several compartments to carry your charger, your smartphone and other accessories that you will need to take along
Chromebook Laptop Sleeves
Sleeves are a nice way to protect your laptop when you are taking it with you to work, school or on a trip. They are made to fit snugly around the device and have some padding to protect from bumps and scratches. There are options of an envelope style and some even have a handy handle to carry them with. There are not usually extra pockets for chargers, cords and the like which might be a disadvantage for some but perfect for someone who just want to take the notebook with them without the cumbersome addition of all of the accessories. They also work well to place on the computer before you put them in a briefcase, suitcase or a messenger bag.
A Chromebook/Netbook Sleeve is another option for them to carry their laptop safely. Sleeves hug the device and offers some padding. They do not typically have pockets for accessories like chargers and cords. They are nice for short trips where they know they will not need to recharge the batteries. Many people like to have a sleeve to add extra protection inside a bag or in a suitcase when they travel. Sleeves come in a variety of colors and patterns that will appeal to both genders. Just make sure that they will accommodate the size of the Chromebook. They do have some stretch to them but obviously a 13 inch laptop is not going to fit in a sleeve that is made for a 11.6 inch device.

A wireless printer is a wonderful option for a Chromebook or any laptop for that matter. There is no having to bother to have to walk it over to the printer and connect it to the cables. That can be pretty inconvenient when we are working in the other room from where that printer is. The model below works well with a Chromebook.
There are other accessories that can be used with a Google Chromebook but these seemed to be the most desirable for a new owner of one.
Mouse for Chromebook
At some point that mousepad becomes a bit annoying and you want an external mouse to go with your Chromebook, especially when working longer periods of time. Since the Chromebook comes with 2 USB ports, you can just plug in any wireless mouse. This one by Logitech has very good reviews.
Speakers for your Chromebook
Seriously – if you are going to use your Chromebook as a music system (and you could) you want good speakers to go with it.
You may also want to find yourself a lapdesk.
A user says:
I’ve been using a Chromebook for about a month now after many years using a Macbook pro. So far it’s been a pretty nice machine to work on and I’ve found that the constraints it places on how I get my work done makes me more productive.
Another reader says:
While I still prefer most of my documents on my pc locally, I have become accustomed to work online a LOT. Since there wifi is available in my home and those of most clients as well as at school, working in the cloud has become a real possibility that is cost effective. I use Google Drive (and Docs) to work with clients as well as people working for me. I expect it works well for group assignments in college and school as well.
